Jacob Russell graduated from the University of North Alabama (UNA) in 2022 with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education, and his journey since then has been incredibly rewarding. From the time he started to go to UNA in 2018, he has been deeply involved in various musical projects and roles. Mr. Russell has played with the Studio Jazz Band, the Marching Pride, the Shoals Symphony, the Jazz Combo, and all of UNA's concert ensembles. Additionally, he performs regularly with a New Orleans Style Brass Band that he started called Kicks n' Licks.

Kicks n' Licks has been an exciting venture for Mr. Russell. Some of the most notable achievements range from recording a short album at Cypress Moon Studios to performing on the American Cruise Line River Boat Cruises in Florence, AL. They have also performed music in multiple states, including Mississippi, Tennessee, and Alabama.

In terms of past experiences, Mr. Russell has had the chance to work with several other ensembles and projects, which have enriched his skills and broadened his horizons in music. Outside of work, his family has been a great source of support and inspiration.
