Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Sue Floyd-Deaton
Hi! My name is Sue Floyd-Deaton. I have been teaching English and History at CHS for sixteen years and have loved every minute of my time here. CHS is my family!
I have bachelor's degrees in English (ELA), History, and an endorsement in ESL. I am currently working toward my Master's degree in History at UNA with a concentration on early American History and Women's Studies. I did not know when I was younger how much I would love learning and teaching History. It has grown into a passion.
I moved around a lot from middle school through high school. I went to Briarwood Christian School in Birmingham from Elementary to Middle School. In my eighth-grade year, my family moved to Gonzales, Louisiana, and stayed there until the beginning of my eleventh-grade year. There I attended East Ascension Parish High School. At the beginning of eleventh grade, we moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee, where I graduated from Red Bank High School. I had no idea when I graduated from high school that I would choose a career that would keep me in high school FOREVER . . .But I love every minute of it!
