Katie Dalrymple

Director of Federal Programs

 Katie Flannagan Dalrymple completed undergraduate degree in secondary education at Judson College. She holds two masters degrees and an education specialist degree from the University of North Alabama. She taught Theatre and English for nine years, has served as an assistant principal for four years, and was most recently the principal at Colbert Heights High School for three years. She’s currently the Director of Federal Programs, Curriculum, and Instruction for Colbert County Schools. She is married to Michael and is the mother of three (Nora 12, Oliver 3, and Theodore 1). She spends her spare time directing and acting in community theatre and serving in her church.  She will defend her dissertation in May and graduate with her doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Carson Newman University.

Brooke Cunningham

Federal Programs Secretary/Bookkeeper

My name is Brooke Cunningham and I am in my sixth year as Federal Programs Secretary and Bookkeeper. I am blessed to work along side educators to ensure that the students of the Colbert County School District receive the highest quality education.

I have been married to Daniel Cunningham for 17 years, he is also employed by the Colbert County School District in the Maintenance Department. We have one son, Garrett Cunningham, who attends Colbert Heights Elementary School. When I am not chauffeuring my son around to various activities, I enjoy traveling, singing in my church choir,  and spending time with my family and friends.

Emily Counce

My name is Emily Counce and I am in my third year as the Homeless Liaison and Student Success Coach for the Colbert County School District. I am a 1988 graduate of Colbert County Schools and received my undergraduate degrees in Human Services, Sociology/Social Work, and Criminal Justice from the College of Great Falls in Montana. I am very excited to be back working for the school system that blessed me with a great education. I have worked in mental health and with at-risk youth for more than thirty years, and it brings me great pleasure to be working with the students and families in our district.

I am married to Brad Counce, also a graduate of Colbert County Schools, and we have five children. Garrett and Cody, who are graduates of Colbert Heights High School, and Wyatt, AnnMarie, and Dillon who are current students at CHHS. We enjoy traveling, working with our church, and attending sporting events.

I am here to help your students be successful in school. Please contact me if you know of a student that may be in a homeless situation, doubled up with another family, or an unaccompanied youth. I want to connect our students and families with the resources available to them.

Family and Community Engagement Liaison

Dear Families,

I am so honored to serve as the Family and Community Liaison for Colbert County Schools. I am a graduate from the University of North Alabama; with degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Public Relations. At 19 years old, I started my own nonprofit organization, "Chelsea's Cause: Putting Safety First". Chelsea's Cause focuses on providing monetary medical assistance for patients at Children's of Alabama in Birmingham.  I have been VERY blessed to advocate for families all over the state of Alabama. My love for children runs deep and I can't wait to meet your family and form a relationship with your student...but I can't do it without your help! ESL Instructor

My Name is Ashley Harris and I am the ESL Instructor for the Colbert County School District. I earned my Master's Degree from the University of North Alabama in English to Speaker of Other Languages (ESOL) in 2015. Previously, I have taught for eight years at the elementary level. 

I am fascinated by other cultures and love to travel! I enjoy using the Spanish language as part of my everyday job! I am married and have a son, Siliven, who attends Leighton Elementary School.
