Mr. Lance Mitchell

Dear Wildcats,

I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Lance Mitchell, and it is with great
honor that I introduce myself as the principal of Colbert Heights High School. To say it is an
honor is an understatement. This is more than a position or school to me; it is home. I spent my
entire youth in this community before graduating from CHHS.

For those of you that do not know me, I started my career as a teacher and coach before
entering school administration. I was an administrator for over 15 years, retiring as a principal in
2020. The decision to come out of retirement to be a part of the CHHS faculty and community
was easy. I want to be here with you and the next generation of Wildcats.

I want us, as a school faculty, to work hard to provide learning opportunities and enrichment
experiences for our students in and out of the classroom. I want us to strive to create and
maintain a school climate that is positive and cohesive with a high sense of morale. I truly
believe we will accomplish this by simply doing our jobs daily, taking pride in our school and
community, putting students before ourselves, and treating people the way you want to be
treated.

I am excited to hold the principal position at CHHS and be an integral part of the community.
Your voice is important to me, and I am here to help. Please let me know if I can help in any
way, and my door is always open. I look forward to getting to know each of you.

Go Wildcats!
