Since 1914, the citizens of Colbert County have elected a Superintendent of Education to work alongside 6 elected Board Members representing their communities to guide the educational policies, procedures, and operations of the organized county school system.

During that period, over 60 campuses have been utilized to provide a quality education for students across Colbert County, laying the foundation for an extraordinary history of our schools.

Under the legal counsel of the Bishop-Colvin firm, Colbert County Schools recently updated Board Policy to reflect current and accurate local, state, and federal legislation. Recommended practice for School Boards throughout Alabama is to adopt and vote on processes and procedures, publish separately from the actual Board Policy document, and reference all sections where appropriate.

Upon completing the 2025 Board Policy revision, Colbert County Schools partnered with Simbli to provide an easy-to-use, consolidated platform for accessing all official Board actions.
